Have you ever questioned whether or not the Bible is true? In today's skeptical world, fewer young people trust the Bible1. But the Word of God transforms lives in amazing ways. Let me share my story.
Doubt Led Me to Discovery
As a child, I had doubts about the Bible. But when I got to college, I decided to investigate it myself. What I discovered changed my life forever. Through intense study, I learned the Bible is like no other book. It makes bold claims that stand up to scrutiny. The more critics attack it, the more its power shines through.
Have you noticed how the Bible differs from other “holy books”? It’s not a collection of spiritual sayings. It tells one unified story from Genesis to Revelation. The Bible declares absolute truth, not subjective feelings. Its pages overflow with the supernatural—divine healing, deliverance from demons, and fulfilled prophecy.
This Book came about miraculously. Over 1,500 years, around forty authors wrote it. They were kings, fishermen, poets, and shepherds. Yet their message aligns perfectly. How? 2 Peter 1:21 says the Holy Spirit carried them along.
The Bible’s Central Character
All 66 books of the Bible point to Jesus Christ. He illuminates every page. In a sense, the whole Bible is His story. Old Testament prophecies tell of His coming. The Gospels reveal His life, death, and resurrection. The rest of the New Testament expounds on His teachings. All Scripture testifies about Him.
Your Most Important Decision
Choosing whether or not to follow Jesus is the most significant decision you’ll ever make. It’s a life-or-death choice. Imagine two glasses of iced tea. One holds deadly poison. The other is refreshing and safe. But you don’t know which is which. Would you randomly pick one and start drinking? Of course not! You would wait until you were 100% sure.
It’s the same with Jesus. You must have complete confidence before entrusting Him with your eternal destiny. Half-hearted hopes won’t suffice. You need assurance of His truth, found in reading God's Word.
God's Word Transforms You
The Bible is not just inspiring literature; it’s alive and active! God’s Word changed me from skepticism to passion. I’ve experienced its power firsthand. Here are a few ways it transforms lives:
Scripture renews your mind. Don’t copy the world’s thinking. Let God’s truth reshape your thoughts. The more you read, the more your mind aligns with His.
God's Word transforms your actions. It keeps you from sin and empowers righteous living. Psalm 119:11 says, "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you."
The Bible brings supernatural peace. Despite circumstances, Scripture anchors your soul. God's perfect peace transcends anxiety.
As you digest and live Scripture, your life bears good fruit. Your actions align with God's will, and you grow spiritually vibrant.
Next week, we will explore the power of reading the Bible daily. Be a Word carrying believer this week!
